Holidays to Fuerteventura
As the second largest of the Canary Islands, and one of the least populated, Fuerteventura is the ultimate place for relaxing and enjoying sun-drenched holiday.
It really is a sun lover’s paradise and enjoys an almost perfect climate with the warmth of Africa (which is just 60 miles away) tempered by cooling Atlantic breezes. There are over 150 beaches of fine white sand to explore and some of the best conditions for surfing and windsurfing you could hope for.
Inland, the scenery is stunning with arid, desert-like landscapes and valleys scattered with pretty whitewashed villages. Hire a car and head for the picturesque hamlet of Pajara, set between two volcanoes.
The peaceful, former capital of Betancuria is also worth visiting, as is Lajares where you can discover how locals have lived for hundreds of years. For those who fancy travelling further afield, ferries run regularly from Corralejo to Playa Blanca in Lanzarote. Alternatively, the unspoilt island of Los Lobos, famous for its superb fishing and snorkelling, is just 3km by boat.
